At PFAS, wellbeing isn’t just a box we tick — it’s at the heart of how we work together.
This month, we’re putting the spotlight on Julia Meckael-Jennings, our Wellbeing Lead, to share how the wellbeing function works, how you can access support, and why feedback from colleagues is so important.
What does the Wellbeing Lead do?
Julia’s role spans across our organisation — working closely with HR, senior leaders, and the training team to identify key pain points and create initiatives that truly make a difference. This spans from stress management courses, empowering managers to wellbeing information to 1:1 colleague support. She also drives our Wellbeing Champions and Mental Health First Aider networks, ensuring support is available at every level.
The full scope of the team
The wellbeing function isn’t “just” wellbeing. It also covers marketing, engagement, and social value — bringing together everything that helps build a positive and supportive workplace.
The mission of the wellbeing team
In Julia’s words: “Our aim is to ensure that colleagues come to work feeling happy and supported — and leave without work weighing on them. We want everyone to be able to bring their best selves to work and go home feeling the same way.”
Recent initiatives that make a difference
One of the ways we gather feedback is through Govox Wellbeing, a monthly wellbeing check-in that helps us spot trends and areas where we can better support colleagues.
Recently, Govox data highlighted that financial wellbeing was a common challenge. In response, we partnered with Finwell, a specialist organisation offering free 1:1 financial coaching and workshops to all PFAS colleagues. Many have already benefited from this support, and in today’s climate, we know how valuable it can be.
Your feedback matters
Julia emphasises that every piece of feedback — whether submitted via Govox or shared confidentially — is taken seriously and used to inform real changes. “Your employee experience matters to us. We want everyone to feel supported and happy at work.”
